Providence Swings is a nonprofit dance organization dedicated to the advancement of Lindy Hop and other vernacular dances of the Jazz Era. After five years of inactivity, we have a brand new board and vision for the future. We hope to reestablish Providence Swings as a cultural touchstone in Rhode Island with a focus on our community members.
Our organization is committed to preserving Lindy Hop through educational opportunities like classes and social dances. For further education, look into famous Lindy dancers like Frankie Manning, Norma Miller, 'Shorty' George Snowden, Big Bea, and Whitey's Lindy Hoppers (professional dance troupe).
